Make-a-Wish Firework Night
To mark Bonfire Night and celebrate our first fireworks night this month, we decided to wrap residents in warm blankets and hold a display on November 8th for them, their loved ones and the local Swindon community. We decided to make it a charity event and raise money for Make-A-Wish whilst celebrating.
As the early evening set in, our car park was transformed into a welcoming and secure space filled with laughter and excitement. The number of people that turned up completely exceeded our expectations and brought in a huge feeling of community and belonging at Ridgeway Rise. Thanks to the generosity of the local Tesco, we received donations of delicious treats, which added to the festive atmosphere. Guests were treated to traditional hot dogs, mulled wine, and hot chocolate with marshmallows. Young attendees were provided with glow-in-the-dark toys which along with our fireworks, created a beautiful, multicoloured display that lit up the night.
The highlight of the evening was the stunning fireworks display. Everyone wore their cosiest clothes and watched in awe as the sky came alive with brilliant colours. Many also shared fond memories of Bonfire Nights from years past, making the evening even more special. We were proud to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and raised over £1200 to help make dreams come true for children with critical illnesses.
This event was a resounding success, reminding us all of the importance of community and celebrating life’s simple pleasures. It reinforced our commitment to fostering a sense of belonging and connection among residents, their families, and the wider community. At Ridgeway Rise, we are dedicated to making every day meaningful through a variety of engaging activities and celebrations.
Come and book a tour to see for yourselves if Ridgeway Rise is the right care home for you or your loved one. We look forward to welcoming you into our first-class care home.
